666 Words Ga - Gr

Gay Concert:
A public musical performance by one or more singers in support of the homosexual community.

Gay Decision:
People are NOT born gay. Homosexuality is a lifestyle decision. Attempts to find a "gay gene" have never identified any gene or gene product that is actually associated with homosexual orientation. Studies have failed to confirm early suggestions of linkage to homosexuality. See A Life Decision, A Man Born Gay

Gay October:
National Coming Out Day is an internationally-observed civil awareness day for coming out and discussion about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues. It is observed by members of the LGBT communities and their supporters (often referred to as "allies") on October 11 every year. National Coming Out Day is observed in many countries, including Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Croatia, Poland and the United Kingdom (in the UK it is celebrated on October 12). As of 2008, The Netherlands also has Coming Out Day on October 11.

Gay Porno:
"Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination" (Lev.18:22). "If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them" (Lev.20:13).

A gay porno is pornography involving homosexual men. Gay pornography is being used to reprogram and desensitize the public. Watching gay pornography does desensitize it's viewers. The experience of sexual arousal can be intense when viewing pornography, thus leading to addiction. Addiction itself develops through progressively dangerous stages: addiction, desensitization, and then acting out sexually. Pornography leaves the impression that homosexuality may be pleasurable and therefore good and natural. As a result homosexuality becomes more acceptable.

Homosexuality is clearly condemned by the Bible. According to the Bible, God created Adam and Eve and sexual desires are to be fulfilled only between husband and wife (Gen.1:27- 28; 2:24). Because the Bible condemns homosexuality, people should not watch any sort of media containing homosexual acts.

Gay Pride Flag:
According to the Bible, after Noah's Flood, the rainbow was a sign of God's promise that life would never again be destroyed by that kind of flood (Genesis 9.13-17): "I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth."

The rainbow, one of the most beautiful and glorious things on God's Earth, has been hijacked by homosexuals to promote their lifestyle. They have turned the rainbow into a symbol for sodomy. Since the 1970's the Rainbow flag, sometimes pride flag or gay pride flag is widely recognized as a symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) pride and LGBT social movements.

The colours supposedly reflect the diversity of the LGBT community, and the flag is often used as a symbol of gay pride in LGBT rights marches. Designed by San Francisco artist Gilbert Baker in 1978, the design has undergone several revisions to first remove then re-add colours due to widely available fabrics. As of 2008, the most common variant consists of six stripes, with the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. The different colors symbolize diversity in the gay community, and the flag is used predominantly at gay pride events and in gay villages worldwide in various forms including banners, clothing and jewelry. Geforce Game Card:
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX-based graphics card enables lifelike game play while providing optimal power management with HybridPower technology.

NVIDIA supplies Alien Technology. Alien Technology is a manufacturer of RFID technology.

Gelatin Block:
In December, 1988, the FBI Academy Firearms Training Unit (FTU) designed and implemented the FBI Ammunition Tests. The test designs are based on research and consultation with experts in the fields of wound ballistics, forensic pathology, wound research and medical research. The tissue simulant utilized in FBI ballistic tests is gelatin. Ballistic Gelatin provides an alternative to live animal or cadaver testing. Law Enforcement and the "bullet designers" are constantly testing products to see how well they will perform in real life shooting situations. By studying how a bullet performs when it strikes a block of gelatin information about bullet expansion, penetration depth, fragmentation, and wound cavity can be observed.

Also refers to Knox blocks or Jell-o blocks desserts. These gelatin desserts are cut into squares. See A Jello-Recipe

Genetic Barcode:
Like the UPC system of barcodes employed to uniquely identify manufactured goods, a single genetic marker could provide an universal barcode system that identifies all animals on Earth (Hebert et al. 2003). This DNA barcoding is a taxonomic method that uses a short genetic marker in an organism's DNA to identify it as belonging to a particular species. Cytochrome Oxidase c subunit I (COI) has been adopted by the Census of Marine Life (COML) as the preferred genetic barcode. COML is recommending the small subunit nuclear ribosomal RNA (SSU rRNA, also known as 18S), which forms the basis of the Tree of Life project, as a second elective barcode.

Federal agencies are starting to tap into an ambitious project that is gathering DNA barcodes for Earth's 1.8 million known species. A consortium of scientists from almost 50 nations is overseeing the building of a global database made from tiny pieces of genetic material. The process takes a scientist only a few hours in a lab and about $2 to identify a species from a tissue sample or other piece of genetic material.

Geneticist:
A geneticist is a scientist who studies genetics, the science of heredity and variation of organisms. A geneticist can be employed as a researcher or lecturer. Some geneticists perform experiments and analyze data to interpret the inheritance of traits.

Genetic Tree:
A genetic tree, phylogenetic tree or evolutionary tree is a tree showing the evolutionary relationships among various biological species or other entities that are known to have a common ancestor. A theory of universal common descent based on evolutionary principles was proposed by Charles Darwin and is now generally accepted by biologists. The study of evolutionary biology began in the mid-nineteenth century, when research into the fossil record and the diversity of living organisms convinced most scientists that species changed over time. Analysis of fossil evidence and genetic distance are two of the means by which scientists understand this evolutionary history. Fossil evidence suggests that humans' earliest hominoid ancestors may have been primates. Comparisons of chimpanzee and human DNA show the two are approximately 98% identical, and are taken as strong evidence of recent common ancestry.

One of the main problems with a comparative evolutionary analysis between human and chimp DNA is that some of the most critical DNA sequence is often omitted from the scope of the analysis. Another problem is that only similar DNA sequences are selected for analysis. As a result, estimates of similarity become biased towards the high side. An inflated level of overall DNA sequence similarity between humans and chimps is then reported to the general public, which obviously supports the case for human evolution.

A report in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences suggests that the common value of 98% similarity of DNA between chimp and humans is incorrect. Roy Britten, author of the study, puts the figure at about 95% when insertions and deletions are included. The 98.5% similarity has been misleading because it depends on what is being compared.

While many evolutionists proclaim that human DNA is 98% identical to chimpanzee DNA, few would lie by idly and allow themselves to receive a transplant using chimpanzee organs. As a matter of fact, American doctors tried using chimp organs in the 1960s, but in all cases the organs were totally unsuitable. In 1963 and 1964, physician Keith Reemtsma performed chimpanzee-to-human kidney transplants in twelve adults at Tulane University. The only real success story was one recipient who lived with the chimp kidney for nine months (without evidence of rejection) before dying of an infection. As word of this success leaked out, other surgeons made unsuccessful attempts to transplant chimpanzee hearts and kidneys into humans. Thomas Starzl even performed kidney transplants in six adults using baboon donors. The patients lived for 19 to 98 days after their transplants.

The claim of 98% similarity between chimpanzees and humans is not only deceptive and misleading, but also scientifically incorrect. Today, scientists are finding more and more differences in DNA from humans and chimps. For instance, a 2002 research study proved that human DNA was at least 5% different from chimpanzees—and that number probably will continue to grow as we learn all of the details about human DNA (Britten, 2002).

Furthermore, chromosome numbers are usually even, if one organism spontaneously mutates to having more chromosomes than its species, how can it mate and pass that on? Man possesses 46 chromosomes. Chimpanzees, on the other hand, have 48 chromosomes. This hurdle of differing numbers of chromosomes may appear trivial, but we must remember that chromosomes contain genes, which themselves are composed of DNA spirals. If the blueprint of DNA locked inside the chromosomes codes for only 46 chromosomes, then how can evolution account for the loss of two entire chromosomes? There are conditions in which an organism has an extra chromosome or perhaps one too few. Most of the time these arrangements are fatal and the organism fails to develop. But occasionally the extra or deletions allow life to go on. For instance, horses and donkeys are different species, with different numbers of chromosomes. A donkey has 62 chromosomes and a horse has 64. When the two animals mate a mule is created. Due to differences in chromosomes, the mule is left with an uneven number of 63 chromosomes, rendering the mule sterile. The same is true of a zorse. A zorse is a zebroid, specifically the offspring of a zebra stallion and a horse mare. Like most other animal hybrids, the zorse is sterile. Remember that in evolutionary theory, mutations can be harmful, and make the organism less fit. Therefore all things considered, homology (or similarity) does not prove common ancestry.

According to the Bible, God created man. "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul" (Gen. 2:7). Evolution denies God created man. Evolution teaches mankind descended from some kind of an animal. Either you believe the Bible is true and God created man (Adam and Eve) or evolution is true and the biblical account is false. See A Life Decision

Genocide of Man:
The term "genocide" did not exist before 1944. In 1944, a Polish-Jewish lawyer named Raphael Lemkin (1900-1959) sought to describe Nazi policies of systematic murder, including the destruction of the European Jews. He formed the word "genocide" by combining geno-, from the Greek word for race or tribe, with -cide, from the Latin word for killing. While a precise definition varies among genocide scholars, a legal definition is found in the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG). Article 2 of this convention defines genocide as "any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: killing members of the group; causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life, calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; [and] forcibly transferring children of the group to another group."

All signatories to the CPPCG are required to prevent and punish acts of genocide, both in peace and wartime, though some barriers make this enforcement difficult. In particular, some of the signatories - namely, Bahrain, Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, the United States, Vietnam, Yemen, and Yugoslavia - signed with the proviso that no claim of genocide could be brought against them at the International Court of Justice without their consent.

Get Rich Deal:
A "deal" is "an agreement between parties fixing obligations that each promises to carry out." For instance, you agree to give the devil your soul and in return he agrees to make you famous and rich. See Blood Oath, For Money, and Deal From Hell

Ghost Flare:
Flare from a camera lens is often misinterpreted as being the presence of ghosts or ghostly orbs in photographs. Flare is due to light that hits the film at the wrong point or that was not supposed to reach the film in the first place. When a camera lens is pointed toward the sun or a very strong light source, lens flare and/or a "ghost" like image may result.

Giant God Yah: See Lord Yahwe

Gilgamesh Ark:
The Epic of Gilgamesh and the Biblical account of Noah's flood have a lot of similarities. The Babylonian flood stories contain many details which also occur in the flood story in Genesis. Such details in the story as the building of an ark, the placing of animals in the ark, the landing of the ark on a mountain, and the sending forth of birds to see whether the waters had receded indicate quite clearly that the Genesis flood story is intimately related to the Babylonian flood stories and is indeed part of the same “flood” tradition. However, while there are great similarities between the Biblical and Babylonian flood stories, there are also very fundamental differences. The Babylonian accounts differ from each other. In the Epic of Gilgamesh, the god Enki tasks Utnapishtim to save the world from the flood, and for his good deed, he is granted immortality (and subsequently, Gilgamesh’s envy). Later discoveries revealed that the account was an abridged and modified version of the Akkadian Atrahasis epic, a similar flood myth that was copied and adapted for centuries in the ancient Near East.

Girl Breeches:
Breeches also known as trousers or pants are a garment, extending from the waist to or just below the knee or to the ankle, and covering each leg separately. Breeches are not listed among the garments of an ordinary wardrobe, but the priests in later times (Exodus 20:26) wore a garment resembling modern trousers. These priestly linen breeches, mikhnece bhadh, were worn along with the linen coat, the linen girdle and the linen turban by Aaron on the Day of Atonement, when he entered the "holy place." (The word mikhnece is derived from a root, kanac = ganaz, "to cover up," "hide.") Ordinary priests also wore them on sacrificial occasions (Exodus 28:42; 39:28; Leviticus 6:10; Ezekiel 44:18).

In the Bible women are not allowed to be priests. Therefore women are not allowed to wear breeches. God Himself limited the priesthood to only males of the tribe of Levi. The Levitical priesthood began with Aaron, the older brother of Moses (Exodus 28:1–3). Aaron’s descendants served as the priests in Israel, ministering in the tabernacle and, later, the temple, primarily as mediators between man and God. The Levitical priests bore the responsibility of offering the sacrifices required by the Mosaic Law. Some of the Levitical priests in the Bible are Ezra; Eli; and Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist.

Given Breath:
"And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed" (Rev. 13:15).

According to Revelation, during the time of tribulation the Antichrist will have an image of the beast constructed by men. He will then make it appear to come to alive by breathing life into it. The "beast" will also succeed in controlling all commerce. He will require anyone wanting to buy or sell to carry his mark. This mark will be on either the forehead or the right hand. Those who refuse the mark may either starve or be killed. See Mark of Beast. Also See Die Hungry and Chipped in Hand

Give Praise:
Parents, leaders, and other authority figures are taught to praise their children, family, friends, and employees for their abilities: "You're so smart!", "You're a hard worker", "You're an exceptional student", etc. When we praise someone for a job well done or for possessing a certain ability, what we are doing is giving them a verbal reward.

Rheta DeVries, a professor of education at the University of Northern Iowa, refers to this as “sugar-coated control.” Very much like tangible rewards – or, for that matter, punishments – it’s a way of doing something to someone to get them to comply with our wishes.

Sometimes we compliment people just because we’re genuinely pleased by what they’ve done. What have they done really? Often times when a doctor, firefighter, etc. saves someone's life, they often reply when being praised for what we consider a heroic act: "I was just doing my job" or "I did what anyone else would have done in the same situation". They realize that being of service to others is it's own reward that does not require praise. Praise should be reserved for God and God alone. Through God all things are possible. We should praise God in all circumstances.

Throughout the Bible, the commands to "praise the Lord" are too numerous to mention. Angels and the heavenly hosts are commanded to praise the Lord (Psalm 89:5; 103:20; 148:2). All inhabitants of the earth are instructed to praise the Lord (Psalm 138:4; Romans 15:11). We can praise Him with singing (Isaiah 12:5; Psalm 9:11), with shouting (Psalm 33:1; 98:4), with the dance (Psalm 150:4), and with musical instruments (1 Chronicles 13:8; Psalm 108:2; 150:3-5).

Giving A Gift:
For centuries Christmas was celebrated by feeding the hungry, and providing clothes to the poor. Commercialism and materialism now rule the day and the holiday has turned into a sales frenzy. Christmas is the biggest time of year for retailers, and the biggest shopping day of all is the day after Thanksgiving. Christmas Day is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in most countries of the world, even in many whose populations are not majority Christian. Countries such as Japan and Korea, where Christmas is popular despite there being only a small number of Christians, have adopted many of the secular aspects of Christmas, such as gift-giving, decorations and Christmas trees.

Today the common custom seems to be to give a gift at Christmas as a part of a bargain to receive one. The godly wise men from the East gave their gifts to the child Jesus Himself -- not to one another or to their friends. They gave to Him from hearts moved by the Holy Spirit. Their gifts were a part of their worship of the new found Messiah. Neither were their gifts common trinkets but presents of great value showing their heart's true love for their Lord. They did not bring to the Christ child presents that they might receive from Him something in return.

Gift giving promotes materialism and greed in young children which they will end up having the rest of their lives and spreading to their own children and so on. Throughout the Bible God tells us that he hates materialism and greed. Many Christians spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars upon Christmas presents and yet have given little or nothing to help those in need.

Christmas, of course, isn’t the only time of the year we give gifts. We give gifts to mark milestones, such as birthdays and anniversaries; other holidays, ranging from Valentine’s Day and Easter to Mother’s and Father’s Days; accomplishments, such as the birth of a baby, graduations and retirements; and religious events, including baptisms, first communions, confirmations, marriages, and ordinations. Sometimes we even give gifts when no special occasion is involved.

James describes God the Father as the Giver of "every good gift and every perfect gift" (James 1:17), and He gives His children many gifts and talents throughout their lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus commends parents for giving good gifts to their children: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" (Matthew 7:11). The context of Jesus' remarks in Matthew 7, however, hints at providing for their needs, not fulfilling their lusts or lavishing them with undeserved gifts.

Glacier Ice Caps:
Larger glaciers that cover an entire mountain, mountain chain, or volcano are known as an ice cap or ice field, such as the Juneau Icefield. Ice caps feed outlet glaciers, tongues of ice that extend into valleys below, far from the margins of the larger ice masses.

In 2009, A NASA satellite has revealed more accurately than ever that polar ice in Antarctica and Greenland is melting from glaciers and ice sheets far faster than scientists had previously thought.

Because the melting ice shelves float, they do not affect sea level any more than melting ice cubes would raise water in a glass. But as thinning glaciers flow down from dense ice caps covering the ground above, rising sea levels result.

Peter Gleick, a climate expert who directs the Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment and Security in Oakland, said the findings have important implications for the planet.

"It now appears that surface ice is disappearing at a far faster rate than previously thought, which is another piece of damning evidence that climate changes will be worse and faster than we feared," Gleick said.

The retreat of glaciers since 1850 affects the availability of fresh water for irrigation and domestic use, mountain recreation, animals and plants that depend on glacier-melt, and in the longer term, the level of the oceans.

Goddess Pele:
In the Hawaiian religion, Pele is the goddess of fire, lightning, wind, and volcanoes. Her home is believed to be the fire pit called Halemaʻumaʻu crater, at the summit caldera of Kīlauea, one of the Earth's most active volcanoes; but her domain encompasses all volcanic activity on the Big Island of Hawaii.

God Awakening:
"Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake" (Ps.44:23-26).

God neither slumbers nor sleeps; his eyes are always upon his people; he never withdraws them from them, and he watches over them night and day: but sometimes he seems and is thought to be asleep; as when wicked men flourish and triumph over the righteous (Psalm 121:4).

In verses 23-26. - The appeal to God is now made, after the case has been fully represented. God has always hitherto maintained the cause of his people, and given them victory over their enemies, unless they had fallen away from him (vers. 1-8). Now he has acted otherwise - he has allowed their enemies to triumph (vers. 9-16). And they have given him no reason for his desertion of them (vers. 17-22). Surely, if they call upon him, and plead their cause before him, he will relent, and come to their aid. The appeal, therefore, is made briefly, but in the most moving terms. Verse 23. - Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? The psalmist does not really believe that God "sleeps." The heathen might so imagine of their gods (1 Kings 18:27).

The writer consciously uses an anthropomorphism, really intending only to call on God to rouse himself from his inaction, and lay it aside, and come to Israel's aid. Arise (see Psalm 7:6; Psalm 9:19; Psalm 10:12, etc.). Cast us not off for ever (comp. ver. 9). Under the existing peril, for God to cast off his people will be to cast them off for ever. They had no strength of their own that could save them.

God Evolved:
"For I am the LORD, I change not" (Mal. 3:6).

With the advent of Charles Darwin's evolutionary theory, the Christian community has found itself engaged in a discussion of Christian principles of faith and modern scientific findings. One of the prevalent theories of cosmology involves an evolving God. The evolving God theory is one in which God becomes gradually more and more powerful, spreading throughout the cosmos until its manipulation of matter and energy is so refined that this intelligence is no longer distinguishable from nature itself. This theory bares the marks of human evolution theory, which became popular in the late 19th Century. An evolving God theory is a stark contrast to many other views, which hold God and reality itself to be static. Viewing God in terms of evolution coincides with the progressive view of modern science.

God is Human:
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" (Num. 23:19)

One of the things that many people wonder about God is His form. There are those who reason that since man is made in the image of God, and that man has a body, then God must also be a man. Some people even declare themselves to be God, stating: "I am God". The Scriptures teach that God is Spirit. Jesus said: "God is Spirit" (John 4:24). As spirit, God is not subject to the limitations of a human. He does not have any body parts, neither does He have human passions. God is not composed of any material elements. Therefore He cannot be seen with our natural eyes or experienced by our natural senses.

God of Israel:
The numerous names of God have been a source of debate amongst biblical scholars. Some have advanced the variety as proof that the Torah, the main scripture of Judaism, has many authors. It is also held that the only "name of God" in the Tanakh is Yahwe or Yahweh (the English rendering of YHWH), whereas words such as Elohim (God), El (mighty one), El Shaddai (almighty God), Adonai (master), El Elyon (most high God), Avinu (our Father), etc. are not names but titles, highlighting different aspects of YHWH, and the various roles which He has. This is similar to how a man may be called 'Dad', 'Husband', 'Boss', 'Sir', 'Son', etc, but his personal name is the only one that can be correctly identified as his name. In the Tanakh, YHWH is the personal name of the God of Israel in the Jewish Bible, whereas the other words are titles which are ascribed to Him. The name YHWH literally means "The self-existent One". See Lord Yahwe

God or Devil?:
In the Bible, the devil is identified with "The dragon" and "the old serpent" in the Book of Revelation 12:9, 20:2. He has also been identified with Satan, "the prince of this world" in the Book of John 12:31, 14:30; "the prince of the power of the air" and "the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience" in the Book of Ephesians 2:2; and "the god of this world" in 2 Corinthians 4:4.

For most Christians, he is believed to be an angel who rebelled against God—and also the one who spoke through the serpent and seduced Eve into disobeying God's command. His ultimate goal is to lead people away from the love of God — to lead them to fallacies which God opposes.

God has given man the freedom to choose whom he will follow and serve. This is why God demanded of Israel to “choose ye this day whom you will serve”. If you choose God, then serve Him. If you choose the devil, then serve him. You can only serve one. This is why Jesus said, No man can serve two masters. See A Life Decision

God's Dark Ages:
The period of time approximately from 500 AD to 1000 AD. It was a time of unrest, frequent warfare, uncertain living circumstances and much uncertainty. The dark ages represented an era of ignorance, superstition, social chaos and repression.

Gold Plates:
According to Latter Day Saint belief, the golden plates (also called the gold plates or in some 19th-century literature, the golden Bible) are the source from which Joseph Smith, Jr. said he translated the Book of Mormon, a sacred text of the faith. Some witnesses described the plates as weighing from 30 to 60 pounds (14 to 27 kg), being golden in color, and being composed of thin metallic pages engraved on both sides and bound with three D-shaped rings.

Smith said he found the plates on September 22, 1823 at a hill near his home in Manchester, New York after an angel directed him to a buried stone box. Smith said the angel at first prevented him from taking the plates, but instructed him to return to the same location in a year. In September, 1827, on his fourth annual attempt to retrieve the plates, Smith returned home with a heavy object wrapped in a frock, which he then put in a box. Though he allowed others to heft the box, he said that the angel had forbidden him to show the plates to anyone until they had been translated from their original "reformed Egyptian" language. Smith dictated the text of the [Book of Mormon] over the next several years, claiming that it was a translation of the plates. He did this by using a seer stone which he placed in the bottom of a hat and then placed the hat over his face to view the words written within the stone. Smith published the translation in 1830 as the Book of Mormon.

Smith eventually obtained testimonies from eleven men, known as the Book of Mormon witnesses, who said they had seen the plates. After the translation was complete, Smith said he returned the plates to their angelic guardian. Therefore, if the plates existed, they cannot now be examined. Latter Day Saints believe the account of the golden plates as a matter of faith, while critics often assert that either Smith manufactured the plates himself or that the Book of Mormon witnesses based their testimony on visions rather than physical experience. Golfer Plane:
On October 25, 1999, A private jet carrying golf champion Payne Stewart and four other people flew out of control for 1,500 miles, traveling from Florida to South Dakota before crashing in a field Monday. There were no survivors. Early in the flight the aircraft, which was cruising at altitude on autopilot, gradually lost cabin pressure. As a result, all on board died of hypoxia— a lack of oxygen. The aircraft failed to make the westward turn toward Dallas over north Florida, and continued flying over the southern and midwestern United States for almost four hours and 1,500 miles (2,400 km), until it ran out of fuel and crashed into a field near Aberdeen, South Dakota after an uncontrolled descent.

Good and Bad Karma:
Karma is a theological concept of "action" or "deed," found in the Buddhist and Hindu religions, understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect (i.e., the cycle called samsara). It is the idea that how you live your life will determine the quality of life you will have after reincarnation. According to the Law of Karma, every man's action-in thought, word, or deed- inevitably leads to results or consequences, positive or negative, depending upon the quality of the action. If you do good things, good things will happen to you. If you do bad things, bad things will happen to you. When you apply this to the idea of reincarnation, then a person that leads a good life will be reincarnated into a higher state of being, while a person that leads a bad life will be reincarnated into a lower state of being. The way you live your life causes you to either be rewarded or punished.

Karma is a direct contradiction of Christianity. Karma is based on the theological belief in reincarnation. The Bible rejects the idea of reincarnation; therefore, it does not support the idea of karma. "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Heb. 9:27).

The cliche, “What goes around, comes around,” is the American definition for Karma. Many falsely charge that Karma is synonymous with what the Bible teaches about reaping and sowing. “As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it” (Job 4:8). “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy” (Ps. 126:5). In each of these instances, as well as all the other references to reaping and sowing, the act of receiving the rewards of your actions takes place in this life, not in some future life. Christianity teaches that we all have done bad things, and we all deserve punishment. We can't atone for our misdeeds by trying to do good deeds. Salvation and eternal life (the reward) is only found through Christ.

Gorges Food:
Gluttony, derived from the Latin word gluttire meaning to gulp down or swallow, means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or intoxicants to the point of waste.

The Bible warns "Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh: For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags" (Proverbs 23:20-21). Proverbs 23:2 proclaims, “Put a knife to thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite.” God calls us to control our appetites, rather than allowing them to control us. See Omnivore

Grand Rapids:
Grand Rapids, Michigan was the 1st US city to fluoridate its water in 1945. See Fluoridate

Grandsons:
"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown" (Gen. 6:4). The men of renown are the Grandsons of God. They were renowned for their strength, prowess, and a great capacity for sinfulness.

There have been suggestions as to who the sons of God were and why the children they had with daughters of men grew into a race of giants (Nephilim). In the Old Testament the phrase “sons of God” always refers to angels (Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7). Translated from the Hebrew texts, "Nephilim" means "fallen ones." Therefore Nephilim are presumed to be the offspring of fallen angels.

Grape Jelly:
Grape jelly is a preserve made of the gelled juice of concord grapes. The preparation of the jelly traditionally involves the use of pectin as a gelling agent. Additional pectin may be added in some instances where the original fruit does not supply enough, for example with grapes. In Britain "jelly" is usually a sweet set dessert made by adding gelatin to fruit juice, or more commonly from commercially prepared concentrated blocks—"jello" in the USA. See Pectin Cancer

Gray Aliens:
Gray Aliens are believed to be extraterrestrial life forms. They make up approximately 75% of all aliens reported in the US, 20% of all aliens reported in Mainland Europe, and 12% of all aliens reported in Britain. In American popular culture they have replaced little green men as the most typical extraterrestrial life form experienced in abduction and in general seen in eye-witness accounts.

Typically, Gray Aliens are described as being approximately 4 feet tall, with gray (sometimes blue-gray/green-gray) skin that resembles clay in appearance and texture.

Gray God Yah:
The Lord Yahwe is a gray alien god. He is lord of the gray aliens. See Demon God Yah, Gray Aliens, Lord Yahwe, Mars God Yah

Greece's Athena:
In Greek mythology Athena or Athene is the goddess of wisdom, civilization, warfare, strength, strategy, female arts, crafts, justice and skill. The Parthenon was built on the Acropolis of her namesake city, Athens, in her honour (See Parthenon).

She is the virgin patron of Athens. She is one of four virgin goddesses. Athena, Artemis, Hera, and Hestia were all virgins. In Classical Greek myths, Athena never consorts with a lover, nor does she ever marry, earning the title Athena Parthenos. A remnant of archaic myth depicts her as the adoptive mother of Erechtheus/Erichthonius by the foiled rape by Hephaestus. Hephaestus attempted to rape Athena, but she eluded him. His semen fell to the earth and impregnated Gaia, and Erichthonius was born from the Earth, Gaia. Athena then raised the baby as a foster mother. Other variants relate that the serpent who accompanied Athena, also called Erichthonius, was born to Gaia when the rape failed and the semen landed on Gaia, impregnating her, and that Gaia gave him to Athena after bearing him.

Athena is often compared to the Virgin Mother Mary. A Virgin Mother is one who produces life from within herself without a male consort. Some persons would go so far as to say that the Virgin Mother Mary is in actuality the mythical goddess Athena. This is derived from the fact that Christians converted the Parthenon into a Christian church. Furthermore, many Pagans who became Christians in the early centuries of the church believed in goddesses, so Mary became to them a goddess. Mary was NOT a mythical figure. Christian theology has always maintained that Mary was a mere mortal and not a Goddess. The Bibles provides historical evidence of her existence.

In spite of their connection with virginity, there is NO close parallel with Athena and Mary. Virginity in a goddess was seen as a mark of potency and inviolability. Since in theory wives were subordinate to their husbands sexually and socially. Also the Greek myths regarding virgin births are not quite the same as the virgin birth story in the gospels. In the gospels there's no mention of God or the Holy Spirit taking the form of a human being and actually coming down and impregnating Mary.

Unlike Athena, Mary is not androgynous and does not engage in masculine activities (i.e dressing like a man and engaging in warfare, yet is technically female). Those who are anti-christ have tried to defame the Virgin Mother Mary by claiming she the goddess Athena in an attempt to prevent belief in Jesus.

Greedy Banks:
“The big banks crashed our economy and when taxpayers bailed them out, the banks only took care of themselves,” says Tom Balanoff, President of the SEIU Illinois Council, one of more than 40 groups sponsoring today’s demonstration. “They are paying out billions in bonuses again, taking the same risks that caused this crisis and profiteering off of the bailout—but the American people are still suffering. It’s time to end CEO greed and excess.”

The damage big banks have done in just one year is hard to comprehend. Take a look at the numbers: The financial sector has taken $4.7 trillion in taxpayer dollars over the past year. The bank-driven economic crisis has cost American families $11 trillion in wealth - nearly 18% of our net worth. Banks set aside more than $140 billion for bonuses. In 2009, Bank of America received $45 billion in federal funding, while its CEO, Kenneth Lewis, received $10 million in bonuses in 2008, 400 times what the average Bank of America teller is paid. Since 2001, Lewis has received over $136 million in pay, bonuses, stock options and pension contributions. They continue to hit their costumers with outrageous fees. Americans will pay more than $38 billion in overdraft fees alone in 2009 (that's $125 for every man, woman, and child in the US). After taking $17.8 trillion in taxpayer bailouts and backstops, the ABA and the six largest banks, ignored their commitments to help taxpayers and helped themselves instead. The largest banks are making tens of billions of dollars in profits off of American taxpayers and they have spent $35 million in taxpayer funds to lobby for more taxpayer money and to fight against reforms that would protect taxpayers from their abuses in the future.

Greek Alphabet:
The Greek alphabet is a set of twenty-four letters that has been used to write the Greek language since the late 9th or early 8th century BCE. It is the first and oldest alphabet in the narrow sense that it notes each vowel and consonant with a separate symbol. The Greek alphabet is descended from the Phoenician alphabet.

Green Dollar:
The front (obverse) of the one dollar bill is printed in black. It pictures George Washington, the first President of the United States of America. The back (reverse) of the one dollar bill is printed in green (this is why the dollar bill is sometimes called a greenback). Green is known to have signified witchcraft, devilry and evil for its association with faeries and spirits of early English folklore. It also had an association with decay and toxicity.

According to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing: "The reason for the selection of green as the color for the backs of currency notes has long been among the more popular questions put to the Bureau. No definite explanation can be made for the original choice."

Gulf Oil Leak:
The Gulf oil leak has surpassed the Exxon Valdez as the worst in U.S. history. The leaking wellhead has been spewing 5,000 barrels (210,000 gallons, or 795,000 liters) of oil a day.

And the oil is still flowing robustly, which suggests that the reserve "would take years to deplete," said David Rensink, incoming president of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

"You're talking about a reservoir that could have tens of millions of barrels in it."

At that rate, it's possible the Gulf oil spill's damage to the environment will have lingering effects akin to those of the largest oil spill in history, which happened in Saudi Arabia in 1991, said Miles Hayes, co-founder of the science-and-technology consulting firm Research Planning, Inc., based in South Carolina.

During the Gulf War, the Iraqi military intentionally spilled up to 336 million gallons (about 1.3 billion liters) of oil into the Persian Gulf (map) to slow U.S. troop advances, according to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Hayes was part of a team that later studied the environmental impacts of the spill, which impacted about 500 miles (800 kilometers) of Saudi Arabian coastline.

The scientists discovered a "tremendous" amount of oiled sediment remained on the Saudi coast 12 years after the spill—about 3 million cubic feet (856,000 cubic meters).

Gymnastic:
1570s, from L. gymnasticus, from Gk. gynmastikos "fond of or skilled in bodily exercise," from gymnazein "to exercise or train"

To win a gold medal, athletes have to retain a childlike slenderness, develop rubber for bones and accept a life in a veritable boot camp from as early as the age of 4. From the U.S. to China, it's a regime that critics liken to child abuse — by the end of their adolescence, most gymnasts are already past it, too ungainly for the feats required of them and fated to nurse chronic pains that will linger long after that last lithe vault into the air. In a report published in the New England Journal of Medicine today, a panel of doctors claimed the extreme demands of training to become an Olympic gymnasts can be the socially acceptable equivalent of child abuse…. ‘At its worst, the sport can result in serious, life-endangering physical and emotional disabilities.’"

Nutritionists, doctors and even spectators noticed a severe decline in the height and weight of all the gymnasts. Gymnasts may exercise for as many as four hours per day, and such vigorous exercise may disrupt normal hormone cycles, which can delay puberty and affect height. Elite level or heavily involved female gymnasts may experience attenuated growth during their years of training and competition followed by catch-up growth during reduced training schedules or the months following retirement.

Furthermore, numerous studies have shown that the young female athlete is at risk for the "female athlete triad" -- meaning that the development of disordered eating may lead to menstrual dysfunction (amenorrhea) and subsequent premature osteoporosis or bone loss.
