666 Words I - J

Iconoclast:
An iconoclast is someone who performs iconoclasm. Iconoclasm is the deliberate destruction within a culture of the culture's own religious icons and other symbols or monuments, usually for religious or political motives.

Icosahedron:
In geometry, an icosahedron is a polyhedron with 20 triangular faces, 30 edges and 12 vertices. Many viruses, e.g. herpes virus, have icosahedral shells.

Idaho Elf Wave:
From January 1, 2007 to March 31, 2009 the University of Idaho was in the process of designing computer models and specialized software that the Navy can use to understand a ship’s vulnerability to mines and torpedoes associated with ELF emissions.

Illiterate:
Someone who is uneducated; ignorant or unable to read or write is illiterate. Isaiah 29 is a chapter of announcing punishment on Israel. And as part of the punishment we read that God will also take away the ability to read (understand) the holy word because they have disobeyed it for so long. In particular, verse 10 states clearly that the prophets and seers themselves will be put to sleep and no longer receive revelation from the LORD. "For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered” (Isaiah 29:10).

It is prophesied by Isaiah that the last Prophet is illiterate. “And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned” (Isaiah 29:12). The prophet was unable to read the words of the prophecy because God had made him illiterate. He had done this because the prophet was teaching man's ideas and not the word of God.

This is a prophecy about a false prophet. This false prophet is said to be Muhammad. He had to commit the Qur'an to memory so that he could transmit it accurately to his followers. The allusion to illiteracy is found in the twenty-ninth surah or chapter titled "The Spider," when Allah addresses Muhammad: "Never have you read a book before this, nor have you ever transcribed one with your right hand" (29:48). Whether or not Muhammad was illiterate is in dispute. One theory is that he only feigned illiteracy in order to emphasize the miraculous nature of the divine revelation and to remove any speculation that he composed the Qur'an himself.

Illusion:
An illusion is an image or representation believed to be real in our mind’s eye, but that is not actually real. Our eyes are tricked into seeing something that is not really there or into seeing something happen that did not really happen.

I Love Evil:
"Thou lovest evil more than good; [and] lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah." (Ps.52:3).

The Bible describes Love as "joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control, against such there is no law" (Gal.5:22-23). Love is further described as "selfless" (I Cor.13:4-7). According to the Bible, man possesses the attribute of freewill, for "…they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighted in their abominations… but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not" (Is.66:3,4). Evil is described as sin, which is anything contrary to a God of Love and His Divine Law. "Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness and sin is lawlessness" (I John 3:4). The Law is to "… love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.

Image of Satan:
A visual representation of Satan conceived in the mind or produced on a surface.

In A Deep Sleep:
"But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation" (1 Thess. 1:8).

Many worry about the end of days. While God wants us to be alert, he does not want us to literally lose sleep over worry. According to Psalm 127: “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh but in vain.” It doesn’t do any good to spend sleepless nights worrying about whether or not the world is going to end. It doesn’t do any good to worry about whether or not catastrophe will strike tomorrow. When God says "let us not sleep, as others do," he is talking about being alert and prepared. When the end comes, God wants Christians to be ready for it and not taken by surprise. Is your house in order? "Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live" (2 Kings 20:1). At some point death will come knocking on your door. Don't be naive about these things. You don’t know when you will breathe your last breath. When death strikes, judgment will come. At that point you will stand before God and answer for the life that you have chosen to live. So often we think we have plenty of time left to make changes, but the end may be just around the corner. It's time to wake up.

In Barack's Name:
Is Obama the Messiah? In October 2008, controversial Muslim leader in the United States Louis Farrakhan, leader of the Nation of Islam, called Barack Obama the “Messiah” in a sermon.

“You are the instruments that God is going to use to bring about universal change, and that is why Barack has captured the youth,” Farrakhan said.

“And he has involved young people in a political process that they didn’t care anything about. That’s a sign. When the Messiah speaks, the youth will hear, and the Messiah is absolutely speaking,” he concluded.

Barack Obama has yet to utterly transform U.S. politics or perform any miracles. Wheelchair-bound supporters are still in their wheelchairs. The economy's still in the toilet. Barack Obama is NOT the messiah. It is NOT in Barack's name that we pray. All Christians pray in Jesus's name, and only in Jesus's name, in that we approach God under the authority of Jesus and, if you will, by his permission and because of his effort on our behalf. In several passages from the Gospel of John, Jesus instructs us to pray in his name. According to the Bible: "I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it" (John 14:13-14; see also 15:16; 16:23-24, 26).

Infected Milk:
There are several infectious diseases associated with microbe-contaminated milk and milk products. The good news is that most of these microbes are killed by pasteurization, and so in reality, infections due to milk are rare.

Infectious Microbes Found in Cow’s Milk:
•Bacillus cereus: These bacteria produce a toxin that can cause diarrhea and another that causes vomiting. Bacillus cereus spores are heat-resistant and may survive pasteurization. There have even been very rare cases linked to dried milk and dried infant formula.

•Brucella: Brucella is a bacterial microbe that is found in unpasteurized dairy products. Brucella infection, or Brucellosis, has also been called “Undulant Fever” because of the regular recurrence of fever associated with the disease.

•Campylobacter jejuni: Campylobacter jejuni is the most common bacteria to cause diarrhea disease in the U.S. and is found in raw milk and poultry. It has an increased chance of causing disease when consumed in milk, because the basic pH of milk neutralizes the acidity of the stomach.

•Coxiella burnetii: Coxiella infects a variety of animals, including livestock and pets. The microbe can be found in cow’s milk and is resistant to heat and drying. Infection by Coxiella results in Q fever, a high fever that may last up to 2 weeks.

•E. coli O157:H7: This particular strain of E. coli has been associated with a number of food-borne outbreaks and is the cause of bloody diarrhea. Frequently associated with dairy cattle, microbial contamination of raw milk and soft cheeses can result in disease.

•Listeria monocytogenes: Listeria is a common bacterial pathogen that is found in soft cheeses and unpasteurized milk. It can even survive below freezing temperatures and can therefore withstand refrigeration. It is particularly dangerous to individuals who have weakened immune systems, including pregnant women, AIDS patients, and the very young and very old.

•Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis: This strain of mycobacteria can withstand pasteurization and has been associated with the development of Crohn’s disease, also known as inflammatory bowel syndrome. However, whether or not these bacteria can actually infect humans remains controversial.

•Mycobacterium tuberculosis: The cause of “consumption,” a horrific wasting disease that first affects the lungs, Mycobacterium bovis is associated with consumption of raw milk and was one of the most common contaminants prior to the practice of pasteurization. M. bovis causes tuberculosis in cows and can be passed to humans via unpasteurized cow's milk, causing a disease that is very similar to M. tuberculosis.

•Salmonella: Salmonella contamination of raw milk and milk products has been the source of several outbreaks in recent years. Symptoms include diarrhea and high fever.

•Staphylococcus aureus: Staph aureus produces a toxin that causes explosive vomiting. The disease may be considered a consequence of actual food poisoning from simply consuming the toxin, rather than from an actual infection.

•Yersinia enterocolitica: Associated with raw milk and ice cream, among other foods, contamination is believed to be a consequence of a breakdown in sanitization and sterilization techniques at dairy processing facilities.

Also it is well established that epidemics of typhoid fever have been caused by the distribution of the germs of this disease in milk. There appears to be good evidence that cases of scarlet fever and diphtheria have originated in the same way. Outside of the diseases mentioned, it is possible for milk to be infected with the germs of tuberculosis when this disease exists in the family where the milk is produced or handled.

There is also a growing concern about the potential risks posed by the presence of toxicants and infectious agents in breast milk. See A Breast Milk

Infinitude:
Infinitude means the state or quality of being infinite or having no limit. See Infinite pi

Infliction:
The act of imposing something (as a tax or an embargo). Also, to cause intentional emotional distress, pain or damage.

Inhaling Weed:
Cannabis, marijuana, pot, ganja or weed is a psychoactive drug. In modern times, the drug has been used for recreational, religious or spiritual, and medicinal purposes. The most common form of use is by inhaling. While many drugs clearly fall into the category of either stimulant, depressant, or hallucinogen, cannabis exhibits a mix of all properties. Thirteen states have legalized cannabis for medical use. Canada, Spain, The Netherlands and Austria have also legalized cannabis for medicinal use.

Anthropologist Sula Benet claimed historical evidence and etymological comparison show that the Holy anointing oil used by the Hebrews contained cannabis extracts, "kaneh bosm" (קְנֵה-בֹשֶׂם), and that it is also listed as an incense tree in the original Hebrew and Aramaic texts of the Old Testament. Sula Benet points back to the third century when the Hebrew bible (the Torah), which is unchanged to present day, was translated by the Greeks. The Greeks mistranslated Kaneh bosm/cannabis to fragrant cane. Later Sir Francis Bacon changed it again to calamus in his translation of the Septuagint in his making of the King James Version of the bible in 1611.

The translators of the King James Bible were educated men and knew what they were doing. They were extremely proficient in the Hebrew and Greek Languages. Calamus was mixed with cinnamon and myrrh to form an oil for anointing purposes. A study of scriptural texts published in 2003 refutes this claim. According to the study, Jesus and his disciples used cannabis to carry out miraculous healings. The anointing oil used by Jesus and his disciples contained the ingredient kaneh-bosm. Those anointed with the oils used by Jesus were "literally drenched in this potent mixture". Rabbinical scholars appear to be divided on the subject; some reject the cannabis hypothesis and others affirm it.

Even if the Bible was referring to "cannabis", rather than "calamus", it doesn't justify illegal drug use. The calamus was used as an added ingredient, not as a product by itself. Exodus 30:22-25 states: "Moreover The Lord spake unto Moses, saying, Take thou also unto thee principal spices, of pure myrrh five hundred shekels, and of sweet cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of sweet calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, And of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive an hin: And thou shalt make it an oil of holy ointment, an ointment compound after the art of the apothecary: it shall be an holy anointing oil".

Carefully notice that God is giving Moses a formula for making holy anointing oil and; NOT, a herbal formula for Moses to get high on. Even the word "sweet" indicates that the Bible is referring to calamus (often called "sweet cane") and; NOT, cannabis, which is not sweet.

As plainly described, the Biblical refers to "calamus" as a mere ingredient in the holy anointing oil, used only for anointing articles of the tabernacle and the priests. Holy oil was not to be used for anything, or anyone, else -- anyone who did was cut off from Israel.

Insanity:
To be afflicted with or characteristic of mental derangement. Insanity is a legal term. Not a medical term. In the legal world, it means one is in such a state of mind that he is not responsible for what he does (i.e., he is not able to appreciate the nature of the crime committed like killing someone). Insanity usually refers to a form of psychosis. Psychosis is a mental and behavioral disorder causing gross distortion or disorganization of a person's mental capacity, affective response, and capacity to recognize reality, communicate, and relate to others to the degree of interfering with that person's capacity to cope with the ordinary demands of everyday life. The psychoses are divided into two major classifications according to their origins: those associated with organic brain syndromes (i.e., Korsakoff syndrome); and those less clearly organic and having some functional component(s) (i.e., the schizophrenia, bipolar disorder). See Disorders. Also See Mental Ward

In The Making:
Revelation is in the making, meaning in development or the process of being made. Revelation tells the end of the story of the Bible. The Bible should be taken as literally as possible. Many things have happened; some are happening now, and some are yet to happen.

I, Pet Goat II:
I, Pet Goat II is an animated film brimming with silent messages and esoteric symbolism. While the movie has no dialog, each symbol tells a piece of a story that covers the fields of history, politics, war, occultism and spirituality. Below I have provided a very brief analysis of the title and opening of the film. View the film for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

The Title:
The title "I, Pet Goat II" is from the children's story "The Pet Goat" and "I, Claudius".

"The Pet Goat" (often erroneously called "My Pet Goat") is a children's story from the book Reading Mastery II: Storybook 1 by Siegfried Engelmann and Elaine C. Bruner. It gained attention in 2001 after U.S. President George W. Bush continued reading the book with an elementary school class for seven minutes after being informed of the September 11 attacks.

"The Pet Goat" is the story of a girl's pet goat that eats everything in its path. The girl's parents want to get rid of the goat, but she defends it. In the end, the goat becomes a hero when it butts a car thief into submission.

Osama bin Laden made reference to the story in a videotaped speech released just prior to the 2004 U.S. presidential election, stating that Bush's reading of the book had given the hijackers more than enough time to carry out the attacks. His full quote was:

"But because it seemed to him that occupying himself by talking to the little girl about the goat and its butting was more important than occupying himself with the planes and their butting of the skyscrapers, we were given three times the period required to execute the operations - all praise is due to Allah."

I, Claudius (1934) is a novel by English writer Robert Graves, written in the form of an autobiography of the Roman Emperor Claudius. Claudius was the fourth Emperor of Rome (r. 41–54 AD). Historically, Claudius' family kept him out of public life until his sudden coronation at the age of forty nine. This was due to his being perceived as being a dolt due to his stammering, limp and other nervous tics. This made others see him as mentally deficient and also therefore not a threat to his ambitious relatives. This is how he was defined by scholars for most of history, and Graves uses these peculiarities to develop a sympathetic character whose survival in a murderous dynasty depends upon his family's incorrect assumption that he is a harmless idiot.

I, Claudius ties in with the films "George Bush" character in the opening scene. George Bush is portrayed as a marionette wearing a dunce cap. A dunce cap, also variously known as a dunce hat, dunce's cap, or dunce's hat, is a pointed hat, formerly used as an article of discipline in schools. In popular culture, it is typically made of paper and often marked with a D or the word "dunce", and given to schoolchildren to wear as punishment by public humiliation for misbehavior and, as the name implies, stupidity. There was a widespread notion held by the some of media and public that George Bush was a dumb President. Bush's detractors tended to focus on various linguistic errors made by him during his public speeches, (colloquially known as Bushisms). His mispronunciation of certain words was ridiculed in the media and in popular culture.

A lecturer in American politics at Warwick University said: "A major part of [Bush's] public persona, to some extent, I think deliberately, is that he is not an intellectual. But he went to Yale, he has had an exclusive upbringing and he is by no means a dimwit."

The public's belief that he was not an intellectual may have caused some to believe that he was not smart enough to be involved in the September 11th terrorists attacks. This is because he deliberately took on the character of "harmless idiot". In the film the Bush marionette moves in a way that exaggerates, accentuates and overemphasizes his "dumb" character. Such movements suggest the "dumb" behavior is just a show.

In the opening scene:
Former President George Bush is portrayed as a marionette being controlled with a horizontal control bar by a manipulator with invisible strings. This style of control bar is generally used in the USA for human figures and is also known as the American control.

The manipulator's identity is hidden from view, but demonic hands are revealed as the controller of the Bush marionette.

Iraqi Army:
The Iraqi Army is the land component of the Iraqi military, active in various forms since being formed by the British during their mandate over the country after World War I.

IRIS RFID's:
The iris is the colored portion of the eye that surrounds the pupil. It controls light levels inside the eye similar to the aperture of a camera. The round opening in the center of the iris is called the pupil. The iris is embedded with tiny muscles that dilate and constrict the pupil size. It is full of richly textured patterns that are distinct from person to person, and in fact are distinct from left eye to right eye of the same person.

Iris recognition is the mean of biometric identification using very large amount of iris database taken without contact to the human body. The different biometric authentication system available in present like fingerprint, face, and thumb are not highly secured and in that duplication is easily possible. That's why to increase their security, various countries are developing methods to integrate iris recognition units and RFID units. However, identifying people by scanning the irises of their eyes may not be as reliable as some governments and agencies might think. According to new research that suggests that irises, rather than being stable over a lifetime, are susceptible to ageing effects that steadily change their appearance over time.

Iris Scans:
Biometric security systems have been praised as a major advance in access control. These systems verify an individual's identity through fingerprint scan, hand scan (hand geometry), iris scan (the iris is the colored part around the pupil of the eye), retina scan (the retina is the sensory membrane lining the eye and receiving the image formed by the lens), voice patterns, physical action of writing and facial scan.

Of all the biometric devices and scanners available today, it is generally conceded that iris recognition is the most accurate. The automated method of iris recognition is relatively young, existing in patent since only 1994. In January 2011, Mexico became the first country to use iris scans on ID cards.

The iris scan recognition method uses the unique patterns of the iris of the eye (the colored area that surrounds the pupil). A digital camera uses both visible and near-infrared light to take a clear, high-contrast picture of a person’s iris, a process that does not require physical contact with a scanner. The device then analyzes the patterns in the iris and translates them into a mathematical expression – the most detailed of any biometric technology. The iris is a visible but protected structure, and it does not usually change over time, making it ideal for biometric identification. Like thumbprints, no two iris blueprints are alike, even among identical twins. Each are unique in their own way, exhibiting a distinctive pattern that forms randomly in utero, in a process called chaotic morphogenesis. The iris is a muscle that regulates the size of the pupil, controlling the amount of light that enters the eye. Iris recognition is rarely impeded by glasses or contact lenses and can be scanned from 10cm to a few meters away. The iris is believed to remain stable over time as long as there are no injuries and a single enrollment scan can last a lifetime. But new research has found that irises do not remain the same for life, which implies that people might increasingly be able to evade detection when moving between countries that use such scans

Islamic Lies:
According to Muslims, Jesus was not the son of God: "Say: "God is Unique! God, the Source [of everything]. He has not fathered anyone nor was He fathered, and there is nothing comparable to Him!" (Quran 112:1-4). The Quran also states: "Such was Jesus, the son of Mary; it is a statement of truth, about which they vainly dispute. It is not befitting to the majesty of God, that He should beget a son. Glory be to Him! When He determines a matter, He only says to it, ‘Be' and it is" (Quran 19:34-35). This opposes Christian teachings. According to Scriptures in the New Testament, such statements are false. "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son" (1John 2:22).

Muslims believe Jesus was not killed on the cross. Nor do they believe that he was resurrected. “They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but they thought they did.” (Quran 4:156) “God lifted him up to His presence. God is Almighty, All-Wise” (Quran 4:157). Again this opposes Christian teachings and is a lie according to biblical scripture.

Israeli Jew:
An Israeli Jew or Jewish Israeli, can refer to:
  1. The legal Israeli citizens or residents of the Jewish faith or Jewish ethnicity with origin in the Levant or Land of Israel.
  2. Descendants of Israeli-Jewish emigrants.
Jews do NOT believe in Jesus! Jews do Not accept Jesus as the messiah. They do NOT believe he fulfilled messianic prophecies. They do Not believe he embodied the personal qualities of the messiah. They believe Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslated.

Israeli Kabbalah:
Kabbalah is a set of esoteric teachings meant to explain the relationship between an unchanging, eternal, and mysterious Ein Sof (no end) and the mortal and finite universe (God's creation). Kabbalah originally developed entirely within the realm of Jewish thought, and kabbalists often use classical Jewish sources to explain and demonstrate its esoteric teachings. These teachings are held by followers in Judaism to define the inner meaning of both the Hebrew Bible and traditional Rabbinic literature and their formerly concealed transmitted dimension, as well as to explain the significance of Jewish religious observances.

Is there a God?
Everyone at one time or another wonders, is there a God? How can I be sure? Some say God doesn't exist. What if they are right?

When it comes to the possibility of God's existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen sufficient evidence, but they have suppressed the truth about God (Rom. 1:19-21). Atheism is the belief that God does not exist or that there is no good reason to believe God exists. Atheists may be brilliant scholars or academics. They may be wonderful inventors, surgeons, or scientists. But if they say there is no God they are declaring themselves fools in spiritual matters. According to the Bible: "The fool has said in his heart, There is no God" (Ps. 14:1). In Psalm 14:1 the Hebrew term nabal describes one who is “spiritually senseless,” as well as the person who is characterized by “moral depravity, spiritual irresponsibility, and social insensitivity”. Atheists are not guided by reason. In his opening remarks to the saints in Rome, Paul refers to the heathen Romans as those who “refused to have God in their knowledge” (1:28). He refers to them as “vain” (empty) in their “reasonings,” “senseless” in heart, “fools” who have rejected wisdom (vv. 21-22), and “without understanding” (v. 31).

Agnosticism is a belief related to the existence or non-existence of God. An agnostic is a person who claims he “doesn't know” if God exists. It is interesting to note that the Latin equivalent for the Greek word agnostic is “ignoramus.” An ignoramus is an ignorant or stupid person who is uneducated or uninformed. In essence he is a fool. The Bible tells us that this ignorance is “willful” (Psalm 10:4). It's not that a person can't find God, but that he won't. Therefore an agnostic could also be an atheist if the term "atheist" were defined more broadly, for example, as anyone who lacks a belief in God, or who refuses to acknowledge God's existence as real and true. Other writers who support the definition are cited in Michael Martin's book Atheism: A Philosophical Justification. According to this usage, people would be "atheists" even if they answer the question whether it is true that God exists with "no one knows." From this standpoint an atheist would simply be someone without a belief in God, not necessarily someone who believes that God does not exist. Agnostics do not profess a belief in God. Therefore agnosticism and atheism should be treated as the same.

Christianity is the belief that God exists as a real, conscious, personal Supreme Being, creator and ruler of the universe. According to the Bible we must accept by faith the fact that God exists: “Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists” (Hebrews 11:6). “Faith is knowing God, and knowing that He is able to do what He says, and that He will do it.” (Henry Blackaby). As Christians we must have no doubts about God's existence. Doubt undercuts faith. If you truly believe in God then you know he exists and you do not question it.

There are two types of people in this world, those who profess the truth of God's existence and those who suppress the truth of God's existence. The Bible never attempts to prove the existence of God as it declares that the existence of God is so obvious that we are without excuse for not believing in Him. The Bible states: "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" (Rom. 1:20). For those who want to know if God exists, the Bible says, "You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you" (Jer. 29:13-14).

Italian Gods:
Saturn, Janus, Quirinus, Bellona, Lucina, Terminus, Faunus, Sylvanus, Pales, The Penates, Camenae, Sol, Luna, Mater Matuta, Juventus, Fides, and Feronia were ancient gods worshipped by the Italians.

Jacob Betrayed:
Jacob betrayed Esau. Esau and Jacob were twins, born to Isaac and Rebekah. Esau was the first of the twins to be born. Before Esau's birth, the Lord told Rebekah that her older son would serve the younger son (Genesis 25:23). This was an unusual concept in ancient times because the oldest son was regarded as the heir of the father's wealth, power and authority. Throughout their childhood, the twins differed from each other. Esau became a hunter, while Jacob preferred to stay indoors. Esau was the favorite son of Isaac, and Jacob was the favorite son of Rebekah.

One day, Esau returned from an unsuccessful hunting trip and was famished. He saw that Jacob had been cooking food and he asked for a serving. Jacob asked him if he would be willing to sell his rights as the first-born son in exchange for a bowl of food. Esau agreed (Gen. 25:29-34).

Later in his life, Isaac became blind. Isaac wanted to bless his firstborn and favorite son, Esau. However, Rebekah wanted to blessing to go to Jacob. Rebekah and Jacob were able to trick Isaac into thinking that Jacob was Esau. Thus, the blessings went to Jacob instead of Esau.

When Esau discovered Jacob’s trickery, he was upset and begged his father to bless him as well. However, Isaac already gave his blessing out to Jacob and could not give a second blessing. Since Esau was betrayed, he vowed to kill his brother.

Jamaican Island:
Rastafarians believe Jamaica is hell. Rastafarians regard 'Ethiopia' as their homeland and believe they will eventually return.

During periods of colonisation Africans were divided up and sent to destinations throughout the world, in most cases as slaves to whites. This is why many Africans found themselves in Jamaica and why it is regarded by many Rastafarians as hell.

'Ethiopia', the homeland, was seen as a place of fond memories of freedom and life prior to oppression. This meant it eventually became regarded as heaven. To develop this belief Rastafarians refer to Ps. 137:1: "By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion."

Jamaican Rasta:
The Rastafari movement began in the slums of Jamaica in the 1920s and 30s. Followers of the Rastafari movement are known as Rastafarians, Rastafaris, Rastas, or Ras Tafarians. The movement is named for Ras Tafari Makonnen, who was crowned Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia in 1930. Some Rastafaris dislike the term "Rastafarianism" because they reject the "isms and schisms" that characterize oppressive and corrupt white society. The movement is referred to as "the Rastafari movement," "Rasta," or "Rastafari."

Rastafarians believe in the Judeo-Christian God, whom they call Jah. In general, Rastafarian beliefs are based in Judaism and Christianity, with an emphasis on Old Testament laws and prophecies and the Book of Revelation.

They believe Jah was manifested on earth as Jesus, who Rastas believe was black, and Emperor Haile Selassie whom is believed to still be alive - his death was a hoax and he lives in protection awaiting the Day of Judgment. Selassie is worshipped as divine.

It should be noted, Haile Selassie never regarded himself as God, nor did he adhere to Rastafari.

Rastafarians regard Haile Selassie I as God because of Marcus Garvey's prophecy - "Look to Africa where a black king shall be crowned, he shall be the Redeemer" - was swiftly followed by the ascension of Haile Selassie as Emperor of Ethiopia.

Rastafarians do not believe in an afterlife, but instead look to Africa (called "Zion") as a heaven on earth. True Rastas are believed to be immortal, both physically and spiritually, a concept called "everliving." An important Rastafarian concept is "I and I," which is said instead of "you and I." It emphasizes the oneness between humanity and God as well as the equality of all humans. See We Are All One

James Jones:
James Warren "Jim" Jones (May 13, 1931 - November 18, 1978) was the founder and leader of the Peoples Temple, which is best known for the November 18, 1978 death of more than 900 Temple members in Jonestown, Guyana along with the deaths of nine other people at a nearby airstrip and in Georgetown. The tragedy at Guyana also ranks among the largest mass suicides in history. Jones was a voracious reader as a child and studied Joseph Stalin, Karl Marx, Mahatma Gandhi and Adolf Hitler carefully, noting each of their strengths and weaknesses.

By the early 1970s, Jones began deriding traditional Christianity as "fly away religion," rejecting the Bible as being white mans justification to subordinate women and subjugate people of color and stating that it spoke of a "Sky God" who was no God at all. Jones authored a booklet titled "The Letter Killeth," criticizing the Bible. Jones also began preaching that he was the reincarnation of Jesus of Nazareth, Mahatma Gandhi, Buddha, Vladimir Lenin, and Father Divine. In the documentary Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, former Temple member Hue Fortson, Jr. quoted Jones as saying, "What you need to believe in is what you can see...If you see me as your friend, I'll be your friend. As you see me as your father, I'll be your father, for those of you that don't have a father...If you see me as your savior; I'll be your savior. If you see me as your God, I'll be your God."

By the Spring of 1976, Jones began openly admitting even to outsiders that he was an atheist. By 1977 Marceline Jones admitted to the New York Times that, as early as age 18 when he watched his then idol Mao Zedong overthrow the Chinese government, Jim Jones realized that the way to achieve social change through Marxism in the United States was to mobilize people through religion. She stated that "Jim used religion to try to get some people out of the opiate of religion," and had slammed the Bible on the table yelling "I've got to destroy this paper idol!" In one sermon, Jones said that, "You're gonna help yourself, or you'll get no help! There's only one hope of glory; that's within you! Nobody's gonna come out of the sky! There's no heaven up there! We'll have to make heaven down here!" See MK Project

Jehoshaphat:
Jehoshaphat was the fourth king of the Kingdom of Judah. He took the throne at the age of thirty-five and reigned for twenty-five years. He spent the first years of his reign fortifying his kingdom against Israel (2 Chronicles 17:1-2). The Bible lauds Jehoshaphat for the repression of prostitution (1 Kings 22:46), and for destroying the cult images or "idols" of Baal in the land (1 Kings 22:43). In the third year of his reign Jehoshaphat sent out priests and Levites over the land to instruct the people in the Law (2 Chronicles 17:7-9), an activity that was commanded for a Sabbatical year in Deuteonomy 31:10-13. The author of 2 Chronicles generally praises his reign, stating that the kingdom enjoyed a great measure of peace and prosperity, the blessing of God resting on the people "in their basket and their store."

Jehoshaphat also pursued alliances with his contemporaries ruling the northern kingdom, the first being with Ahab, which was based on marriage: Jehoshaphat married his son Jehoram to Athaliah, daughter of Ahab (2 Kings 8:18). This alliance led to much disgrace, and brought disaster on his kingdom (1 Kings 22:1-33).

Jelly Candy:
"Gummy" or "jelly" candies are made with a base of gelatin and are often flavored with fruit juices or extracts. The gelatin gives them a distinctive chewy texture that ranges from soft to very firm, depending on the amount of gelatin used. Gelatin is a protein produced by partial hydrolysis of collagen extracted from the bones, connective tissues, organs and some intestines of animals such as pigs, and horses.

In the Bible, the books Leviticus and Deuteronomy contain lists of unclean animals. "Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you. And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase" (Deut. 14:7-8).

Jesus Debate:
"But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain" (Titus 3:9).

A Jesus debate is a discussion in which arguments for or against Jesus are disputed and weighed. Debate persists over the life of Jesus. Topics of debate include, but are not limited to:
Jesus: Fact or Fiction?
Did Jesus Really Rise from the Dead?
Was Jesus the Messiah?
Darwin and Jesus Fish Wars Debate

For some people it doesn't matter what proof they are shown, they will not believe in God and the Bible because to them "it is impossible, therefore any evidence that seems to point that direction is wrong." It is a waste of time to engage in any type of discussion with these types of people. Furthermore, God does NOT want us to quarrel with people. "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will" (2Tim.2:23-26). God wants us to "always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear" (1Peter 3:15). However, God instructs us "answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like to him" (Prov.26:4). For "the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good" (Ps.14:1).

Jesus Dies:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

Jesus was not born in rebellion like the rest of mankind. Without sin there can be no death. Sin resulted from the Fall of Man, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. Their sin separated them from God. Death was one of the consequences of their sin. Their sin brought death to the whole mankind (Romans 8:18-23). Jesus was born of the virgin Mary. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke say that Mary was a virgin and that Jesus was conceived in the womb by the Holy Spirit. These gospels, later tradition and current doctrine present Jesus' conception as a miracle involving no natural father, no sexual intercourse, and no male seed in any form, but instead brought about by the Holy Spirit. Through the Virgin Mary He took the likeness of flesh (Rom. 8:3), the likeness of men (Phil. 2:7). Jesus was not an ordinary man. When Jesus was crucified the Romans believed they could kill him, but this was not possible. The Resurrection proves this.

Christ's body had been laid out in the tomb after crucifixion, after three days the tomb was found to be empty, the body gone, and there were two angels within the tomb. Jesus then appeared before Mary Magdalene and said "Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God" (John 20:17). After the discovery of the empty tomb, the Gospels indicate that Jesus appeared to the disciples and many people over a span of forty days (Acts 1:3), with the most notable being to the disciples in the upper room, where Thomas did not believe until he was invited to put his finger into the holes in Jesus' hands and side.

For those who accept Jesus and God's message, you will not experience death because God has the power to resurrect the dead. According to the Bible, God raised Jesus from the dead (Acts 2:32). Jesus came to deliver a message about an eternal life in the Kingdom of God and offer it to those who would accept it. Jesus didn't come to die. Jesus came to save mankind from death (John 12:47).

Jesus was sent to offer everlasting life to those who accepted and believed in him and followed God's teachings. Those who believed in him would live an eternal life in Paradise. He came to offer a life free of hardship, suffering, and sorrow. Jesus came to save mankind from death.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). "Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death" (John 8:51).

Jesus Lives!!! If you believe in Jesus, accept and follow God's teachings then you too will live forever. The assurance of hope for both the living and dead in Christ rests on Jesus’ word: “I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" (John 11:25-26).

Jesus' Side:
"But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water" (John 19:34).

The gospel states that the Romans planned to break Jesus' legs, a practice known as crurifragium, which was a method of hastening death during a crucifixion. Just before they did so, they realized that Jesus was already dead and that there was no reason to break his legs. To make sure that he was dead, a Roman soldier stabbed him in the side.

Jewish Haggadah:
The Haggadah is a Jewish text that sets forth the order of the Passover Seder. Reading the Haggadah at the Seder table is a fulfillment of the Scriptural commandment to each Jew to "tell your son" of the Jewish liberation from slavery in Egypt as described in the Book of Exodus in the Torah "And thou shalt tell thy son in that day, saying: It is because of that which the LORD did for me when I came forth out of Egypt." Ex. 13:8.

Junel Pill:
Junel (30mcg ethinylestradiol / 1.5 mg norethindrone acetate) is a monophasic combined oral contraceptive pill. It is is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the prevention of pregnancy.

The Bible mentions at least one form of contraception specifically and condemns it. Coitus interruptus, was used by Onan to avoid fulfilling his duty according to the ancient Jewish law of fathering children for one’s dead brother. "Judah said to Onan, ‘Go in to your brother’s wife, and perform the duty of a brother-in-law to her, and raise up offspring for your brother.’ But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his; so when he went in to his brother’s wife he spilled the semen on the ground, lest he should give offspring to his brother. And what he did was displeasing in the sight of the Lord, and he slew him also" (Gen. 38:8–10).

June Rains:
On several occasions in the Bible is the importance of a normal rainfall regime for the success of agricultural crops (i.e., an appropriate seasonal distribution of rainfall) clearly stated; rain in the wrong season is useless, at times even harmful.

“I will grant the rain for your land in season, the early rain and the late. You shall gather in your new grain and wine and oil.” (Deut 11:14)

“They have not said to themselves, ‘Let us revere the Lord our God who gives the rain, the early and late rain in season, who keeps for our benefit the weeks appointed for harvest.’” (Jer. 5:24)

The summer (peaking from June to August) is quite dry and rainfall is very unusual. Late and strong rains at the beginning of June are as rare and notable nowadays as they were at the time of Samuel. “Now stand by and see the marvelous things that the Lord will do before your eyes. It is the season of the wheat harvest, I will pray to the Lord and He will send thunder and rain; then you will take thought and realize what a wicked thing you did in the sight of the Lord when you asked for a king...” (I Samuel 12:16-18).
